Chair, Medical Oncologist
Prof Shackleton is Director of Oncology at Alfred Health, Co-Director of Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium, Professor of Oncology at Monash University, Director of Cancer Trials Australia, and a Victorian Cancer Agency Clinical Research Fellow. After training in medical oncology in Melbourne, he undertook PhD studies at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute and post-doctoral work at the University of Michigan, receiving several major prizes including the 2012 Australian Science Minister’s Prize for Life Scientist of the Year.

Dermatologist
Prof Victoria Mar is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and Director of
the Victorian Melanoma Service at the Alfred Hospital. She is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University, and is a member of the Cancer Council Australia Melanoma Guidelines Working Group. Prof Mar has an interest in early melanoma diagnosis and surveillance of high-risk individuals.

Mary Tsouvalakis is a Managing Principal Solicitor, Corporate Legal Advisory at the Victorian Department of Health. Her legal experience spans across two decades advising private and public sector clients on all aspects of commercial law and commercial litigation, with a focus on the provision of legal advice to the health and medical sector. Mary brings to the Board considerable knowledge and experience in government legal frameworks and governance. She also brings to the Board a lived experience with cancer, including skin cancer.
Sharon Van Buerle

Policy and Financial Resources Manager
Sharon Van Buerle brings to the Board over 35 years of extensive expertise leading, supporting and managing complex portfolios and international intergovernmental processes. Her management experience spans financial management, strategic planning, budgeting, cross-organisational change, and oversight and governance. Sharon has proven leadership skills, a collaborative approach, is politically astute and strategically aware of organisational requirements as they are negotiated with key stakeholders.
Executive Director
Patrick Baker is Director of The Alfred Foundation and is also a Board member with Cancer Council Victoria and The Bays Hospital. He has expertise in strategic and operational direction, including client acquisition, revenue generation and growth strategies. Patrick has a reputation for establishing and maintaining high-quality relationships with diverse stakeholders and is passionate about delivering positive commercial outcomes.

Lawyer
Stephanie Reeves has worked as an in-house legal counsel for both small and large ASX Listed companies for many years. She is now Co-Principal of a consultancy business assisting families navigate the ageing process. She is also a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) Ltd and the Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer. Stephanie has a particular interest in corporate governance in both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors.

Regulatory and Government Affairs Expert
Michael Leader is responsible for regulatory policy and stakeholder engagement for a major plant science company, where he drives engagement with key scientific stakeholders to advance science-based regulation of agricultural innovations across Asia. He has significant corporate governance experience, including as a Director and Company Secretary for Australian and New Zealand subsidiaries, as well as serving as Chair and President for several not-for-profit trade associations. In addition, he has worked in Australian Federal government health, biotechnology and quarantine regulatory agencies and as Department Liaison Officer with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Aged Care. He also brings to the Board a lived experience with melanoma.

Paediatric Doctor
Dr Aidan Tan is a paediatric doctor who lives and works in Sydney and is actively involved in community, health, and education organisations serving local families. His work focuses on strengthening public services and community institutions so they work better for people from diverse backgrounds. Aidan serves on the Medical Board of Australia and a number of not-for-profit boards across health, disability, aged care, education, and community services.
