Avène donated $1 from every Avène Sunsitive® Sunscreen sold at Chemist Warehouse stores between 1 November- 31 December 2024 raising $38 659 for our clinical trial program. With one Australian diagnosed with melanoma every 30 minutes, our clinical trials are now more important than ever.
Prominent Australian medical oncologist and Board Chair of Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials, Prof Mark Shackleton said “Australia has the highest rate of melanoma and skin cancer in the world, so Australians need to embrace sun safety. Avène’s donation will help Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials support world-leading researchers in clinical trial development and enabling vital research in key areas towards improving outcomes for people affected by melanoma and skin cancer.”
“We are so thankful to Avène for their commitment and support of our clinical trials program. The campaign also helped raise awareness about the role of applying a broad-spectrum daily sunscreen with an SPF of 50+ every two hours in preventing skin cancer, along with seeking shade, wearing sunglasses, sun-protective clothing and a broad-brimmed hat.” Gabrielle Byars, CEO Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials.
Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials is Australia’s only national, collaborative, independent, not-for-profit, clinical trials group focused on melanoma and skin cancer.
